our editorial review
Let me be straight with you from the start. Golden Palms Events is, first and foremost, a production and logistics house. They have worked out of Gueliz since 2009, and the spine of the business is what the trade calls MICE: meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions, the big corporate machinery of international events. They own real technical firepower here, LED walls, sound, lighting, drone and camera crews, even simultaneous-translation booths for multilingual conferences. Weddings live inside their private-events branch, sometimes under their Golden Palms Trip name, as one service among many rather than the reason the company exists. Why lead with this? Because it colours what you are buying. A team that runs conferences for a thousand delegates has genuine muscle and access. But a wedding asks for a softer, more intimate kind of attention, and you will want to confirm that yours actually gets it.
When they turn to weddings, the offer is full-service and unmistakably high-end. They lean on relationships with the grand hotels, Royal Mansour, La Mamounia, Selman, Fairmont, and on the settings couples fly to Marrakech for: Palmeraie estates, riads in the medina, villas, palaces, and the Agafay desert. Catering stretches across many kitchens, Moroccan, French, Italian, kosher and Indian among them, with chefs to match. On entertainment they clearly enjoy a spectacle: DJs and live bands, Gnawa musicians, and a horse show they say featured at Madonna's sixtieth birthday here in 2018. The team is described as multilingual, which a mixed guest list needs, and in this city that means French, Arabic, and English. So what you get is scale, polish, and access. What I cannot show you is the tender, wedding-first storytelling, because their public work leans firmly corporate.
So who is this for? You would look hard at Golden Palms Events if your celebration is large or logistically heavy, if guests are flying in and need hotels, transfers, and hospitality handled under one roof, and if you want a licensed operator with real production capacity behind it. That backbone is a true asset, and the Ministry of Tourism licence is worth something. Now my honest reservations. Every testimonial I could find is corporate: bar associations, agencies, a development bank, all praising a man named Reda Akaaboune for running their conferences well. I did not find a single married couple's review, a named wedding planner, or any pricing. So you would be trusting their events pedigree to carry over to your wedding, which is a fair bet but still a bet. Get on a call, ask who personally runs your day, and ask to see real weddings, not a services list.
My read is this. Golden Palms Events is a serious, well-connected production and events house that also plans weddings, rather than a wedding studio at heart, and how you weigh that difference should decide it. If you want proven logistics, access to the grand hotels, technical polish, and one licensed team to carry a whole destination weekend, they earn a conversation and probably a shortlist place. If you want a named, wedding-first planner with couple reviews you can read and a price before you commit, you will feel the gaps. I am putting them at about 7.8 out of 10 overall, resting that on their longevity, licence, and evident capability rather than on wedding results I could verify. Transparency sits near 6.0, held down by absent pricing and the lack of any wedding-specific reviews, and lifted a little by how openly they list their services and partners. Let their answers on a call be the tiebreaker.
