Marrakech is a dry city with some extraordinary gardens in it, most planted a century ago and irrigated ever since. Olive groves, jasmine, old parterres that photograph beautifully with no styling at all. The useful questions are less romantic. Is the garden actually green in August. Is there a covered fallback for a winter shower. What does the lighting do after dark, because a garden with no evening lighting scheme turns into a dark field at nine o'clock. I note those on each page. Near standing water in late summer, ask about mosquitoes before you commit.
